Derby Community Parent Programme are continuing to provide their Community Support virtually. Their volunteers provide 1-1 support to parents, via telephone, text, zoom and socially distanced walks and they continue to work with the maternity services at the hospital to create a safe & secure online platform for expectant & new parents to access peer support and are joined regularly by midwifes and other health & well being professionals. However, the community support (coffee mornings, fitness classes etc) will remain 'on hold' for while yet.
They have set up a group specifically for dads as they identified that many fathers have found being excluded from appointments and the birth to be extremely challenging. The feedback is that the groups have been really helpful and parents have found them supportive and useful. See the posters below for more info.
